Calling all Crafters! "Pass it On" Craft Clubs

The NFWI is supporting the Craft Council and Hand Knitting Association in their aim of increasing the number of Craft Clubs in schools. A series of free "Pass It On"  training days will be held across England and Wales over the next two years. The dates  will be available on the MOODLE as soon as they have been organised. WI Members can claim up to £50 in travel expenses to attend these events. WI members who are already running Craft Clubs will be supplied with training materials and "goodie bags" for their students but they need to ensure that they register their club on the Craft Club website or with Lesley Quirk, Craft Club Co-ordinator, NFWI Unit by email l.quirk@nfwi-unit.org.uk or call 01865 391788 x 239. Evaluation forms will be sent to everyone who registers and this will generate delivery of the free materials.

 Legal Aid
The Legal Aid , Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill will dramatically scale back the legal aid system. The NFWI is concerned that proposals will mean that some of the most vulnerable people in our society will be unable to access legal aid. The WI have been campaigning to raise awareness of the disproportionate impact on women, particularly women who have experienced domestic violence. Help them continue to get the support they need from the Legal Aid system. Please get involved by writing to your MP. Template letters are available from the Public Affairs Dept on the MOODLE or by contacting WI House.
