Wine Divine hosted an evening that was fun, social and informative. Wines that you wouldn’t normally see in the supermarket were tasted and the opportunity to buy our favourites proved very successful.

The chance to see how simple it was to create a fresh Indian meal from scratch, with easily obtained ingredients, which was better than a takeaway, was not to be missed. The evening even included genuine Mehndi Tattoos.

With piles of greenery, a pair of secateurs and some wire, we created a gallery of stunning Christmas wreaths to hang on our doors. You may even have admired one hanging on a door near you?

A two hours hands-on tutorial with a jeweller demonstrated that a simple design can turn out to be a thing of beauty. With expert guidance, we were able to each produce several unique and stylish pieces of silver jewellery.

Family First Aid Workshop
During the entertaining, yet instructive Family First Aid Workshop, the instructor showed us how to manage strokes, heart attacks and choking. Training dolls were used to provide hands-on experience of resuscitation methods, including the Heimlich manoeuvre.

Simple Pottery
With funds from a Wiltshire grant, the group has been able to spend time with a talented and eager potter, to create our own pottery masterpieces. As well as getting covered in clay, we have each discovered our inner artist and created such diverse items as wall plaques, bird baths and decorative dishes.

Devizes author Frances Garrood came to talk to us about her writing career. Frances was runner up in the 'Richard and Judy How to Get Published' competition and has since been published by Macmillan under their 'New Writers' scheme.

Wafaa Powell spent a very enjoyable and amusing evening with us showing how to prepare and cook some healthy Lebanese food. She will be returning in the New Year to teach us belly dancing!

We livened things up a bit with a memorable evening of life drawing. Andrea showed us how to do a variety of quick and more detailed sketches, and Graham showed us that he wasn't a shy boy.
